Name: Ibis DiscuaHow long have you been a franchisee? September 13, 1991Why did you decide to purchase a commercial cleaning franchise? I wanted to be independent, be my own boss. Heard about OpenWorks through the newspaper. Looked into other franchise cleaning companies before going with OW. Went with OW off of a gut feeling. Trusted the advertisement in the newspaper. What has been your biggest success? Having consistency over a long period of time. What was your biggest challenge and how have you overcome it? The Phoenix Convention Center carpet cleaning – overcame it with knowledge of what needed to be done as well as having good equipment and good human resources. What are you most looking forward to in your franchise business? Keeping consistency and retaining a business relationship with OW.What advice do you have for new franchise owners? Be professional. Keep the mindset that the “customer is always right”. Respond quickly to issues/problems with clients. Business is going well. Presently I am excited about economy changes and OW finding new opportunities for me. How do you find good employees? Networking via employee referrals – have never advertised for employment. Have always had referrals. I also network with other OW franchise owners. It’s working out well because I specialize in floor work (carpets and hard floors) and so I can help others. I would always recommend reaching out to fellow franchise owners for help. I want the positive trend that I see to continue. Regional Specialist’s Observations: “Ibis is an incredible individual. He is hard working and dedicated not only to his business but to OpenWorks as a whole.”
